My graduation trip
The red dots show the various places Duane, my American dad, and I visited during our four-week trip around the USA the last two weeks of May and the first two weeks of June 2003. The main purpose of this trip was to visit 10 graduate schools of Public health around the nation, so that I would gain a better understanding of each program. In addition, I met many of Duane's family members, friends, and learned a lot about the USA. On our trip we visited 23 states.
Since I enjoy Rock and Roll, Duane took me to the
Rock and Roll museum in Cleveland, Ohio. I highly recommend it to
everybody.
The two pictures above show how people used to

My last semester in Central College I took a
Sociolinguistics class. My final project focused on the Gullah people and
their language. I was thrilled when Duane and I arrived on St. Helena's
island where the Gullah people live.
I am famous for loving light houses.
Naturally, I could not leave St. Helena's island without checking out its light
house.
Did you know that I am a Saint? Here is the proof! Just read the sign!

Our Czech friend, Honza Havel, an economics
professor at New York University in Prague, invited Duane and me to join him and
attend a Frisbee tournament. This team consisted only of people who never
teamed up before, but came here to have a good time.
Duane and I visited his childhood friends,
Leroy and Elaine Beatty, in Kerrville, Texas.

I always admire cacti because that are so
unusual to me. It would be hard to find them in the Czech Republic.

Isn't the height of this cactus just
unbelievable? (Arizona)
Joshua trees amaze me too. (Arizona)
